    3. No doubt the town was named from the Blue Ball Inn. (They tore it down recently.) Probably the name was changed when the name of the inn was changed from Corss Keys to BLue Ball. Lots of crossroads that grew into towns were names from their inns- King of Prussia, Fox Chase, etc. WEst Chester used to be called Turk's Head after the Turk's head inn.
