My 3X great grandparents, John and Isabella Smith, worked for a time in London Britain township, for John Whitten Esq, a large dairy farmer and local justice of hte peace, who according to the 1790 census owned three slaves. I think he may have been one of only three people in Chester County who owned slaves.
