    3. The 1910 census lists them in Caln Twp. Thorndale is an area just outside (north and west) of Downingtown, Chester Co., PA. Caln Twp. is east and north of Downingtown. Your best bet for an obit would be to contact the Daily Local News, in West Chester, PA, which has been in publication for that entire time frame. As for burial records, it would help to know what religion/denomination he might have been. -----Original Message----- From: Beverly M. Looking for information regarding: Alfred Adams Corey, Sr. Born: Sep 1840, PA Died: 29 Dec 1910, Thorndale, Chester Co., PA. His wife is Adaline FRITZIUS (1842-after 1910) If Alfred died in Thorndale, where would he be buried? I would be interested in finding an obit for him. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I do have access to census records, so don't need help with that. Thank you very much. ~Blessings, Bev in Calif. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PACHESTE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    1. [PACHESTE] KILL (creek) & KILLE ("riverbed" or "water channel")
    2. KILL (creek) & KILLE ("riverbed" or "water channel") As a body of water, a kill is a creek. The word comes from the Middle Dutch kille, meaning "riverbed" or "water channel." The modern Dutch term is kil. The term is used in areas of Dutch influence in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware & Marinade and other areas of the former New Netherland colony & New Sweden colony of Dutch America to describe a strait, river or arm of the sea. Examples are Kill Van Kull and Arthur Kill, both separating Staten Island, New York from New Jersey, and used as a composite name, Wallkill River in Orange County, New York and the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania. In Delaware, there ironically exists "Murderkill." Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    1. [PACHESTE] SMITH, Valentine and CHANNEL, Enoch
    2. M. Mathews
    3. Greetings: I am exploring a possible connection into my Channell line that involved Eleanor Smith, daughter of a Valentine Smith of Pikeland Township and one Enoch Channell (Channel). Eleanor (b. 10 OCT 1772) married Enoch on an unknown date, most likely in Pikeland Township. Eleanor died Oct 9 1853. Enoch died in 1830. Should anyone be researching the Smith family and recognize Valentine and Eleanor, I would greatly appreciate visiting with you and learning more about this family. Any hints, tips, ideas or suggestions on Enoch Channel would also be greatly appreciated. -- Many thanks, Micheal Mathews http://www.mfhg.org mfhg@mfhg.org ---------------------------- Mathews of Michigan Hughes of Ohio and Michigan Channell of Virginia, Ohio, Missouri and Kansas Hathaway of Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah and Idaho
