    2. Robin Hoff Kaspar
    3. I'm new to Chester County research, so don't know what resources are available. James R. Teal, b. 1836 Maryland, machinist in 1880 wife Susanna, b. 1840 Maryland dau Florence E., b. 1862 Pennsylvania dau Carrie S.E., b. 1868 Pennsylvania dau Maggie S., b. 1874 Pennsylvania Susanna's father, John Bradley Brashears was a widower and lived with them in 1880. He died in Baltimore in 1885. I haven't been able to find James or Susanna in 1900, they might not have lived that long. Any Phoenixville cemetery records? Would like to know if the daughters married so that I can continue my search. Thanks, Robin No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. 3. This is a compilation of my Cloud Family. It goes back to Williams grandfather in Calne, Wiltshire, England. I can't guarantee the first 2 generations, but the information from William Cloud and Susan James is pretty solid. Since many of the family members were members of the Quaker faith, at least until the American Revolution, you will probably find some information in the early meeting records. 3. regarding: > From: jdroppel <jdroppel@aristotle.net> > . . . need help locating the county of settlement ... Swiss immigrants > include Johannes Tschudy, Martin Tschudi the Bonis, and Jacob Roppel .... Some years ago, I corresponded with David Judah, who knows about the Tschudi family branch that eventually settled in Indiana. I notice that he is still active with this research (at least as of Oct. '06) so you may want to check his work at genealogy.com. Try a google on exactly the following names "Judah/Judy/Tschudi" and you will find the link to his Family Tree Maker's user home page. I recall he told of a genealogy book of the family; perhaps you know of it. It's a book by Marion Carlock published in 1954 which apparently has lots of errors. David's branch came from canton Basel aboard the ship Sally, so are probably the same ones you are seeking. Cheers, Clay p.s. there is a lot of documentation online (in German) that make clear the Tschudi family was and is quite influential in Switzerland. cf

Both are buried in St. Mark's Cemetery, Honey Brook Twp., Chester Co., PA. my notes have her dates as ( approx. 07/16/1789 - 3/21/1866) (probably from tombstone information. 3. I am confused. You say Rebecca was b. 1790-1800. You say she outlived her husband by 40 yrs and bequeathed her bible in 1849. That sounds like she died in 1849, since she bequeathed it......Yet, by what you say, in 1849, she would be about age 49-59......how then could she have outlived her husband by 40 yrs? If we go by your earliest date, 1790, she would have been 59 in 1849; but if she outlived her husband by 40 yrs, then he must have died about 1809, about the time she was 19 if b. 1790. Barely time enough to have had 3 children, although it is possible. I have an extensive file on the Woodward's of Chester Co. (and many in the area of Chester Springs) but the only Thomas I have in that time frame was not married to a Rebecca. I consistently find a Lewis in Robeson Twp., Berks, b. about 1808. MIght this be the Lewis you mention? -----Original Message----- From: pacheste-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:pacheste-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Bruce Fosnocht Sent: Monday, May 07, 2007 10:29 PM To: PACHESTE-L@rootsweb.com; paberks@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACHESTE] Rebecca Woodward Family Bible, 1849 Hello, I could use some help on my Woodward brick wall. Who are the parents of Thomas Woodward, born about 1770-1780, probably in Chester County, PA, and married Rebecca Millard about 1790-1800. I am trying to find living descendants of Rebecca Woodward, or any researchers knowing of Woodward families in Robeson Twp, Caernarvon Twp, or Reading in Berks Co, or W. Nantmeal Twp, Warwick Twp, Spring City, Coatesville, or Chester Springs in Chester Co. Rebecca outlived her husband Thomas by 40 years, and in 1849 she bequeathed her precious family bible to her son Lewis. Lewis died in 1881 in Berks County, and is buried at St. James Lutheran in Geigertown. Lewis had 3 sons who survived him. The eldest was Thomas M Woodward, who died in 1910, also buried at St. James in Geigertown. The next was Evan C. Woodward. I don't know when or where he died, but he raised his family in Reading. Next was Lewis M. Woodward, who died in Caernarvon Twp, Berks Co in 1909. His children lived mostly in Chester Co, in Spring City, Coatesville, and Chester Springs, where their children probably remained. If I could find that bible, I'm sure it would identify the parents of her husband, Thomas Woodward. At present, I still have several possible Thomas Woodwards as potential husbands. He married MARY JOHN, dau of THOMAS JOHN, JR and wife MARTHA unknown. They lived in Loudoun County, Virginia 1740-1770. (2) THOMAS JOHN, SR married MARY unknown and had a dau MARY JOHN that married SAMUEL HARRIS, JR., son of SAMUEL HARRIS, SR. and wife ESTHER unknown. They also lived in Virginia in Prince William County, Va ca 1740 before Fairfax and Loudoun Counties were formed from it. I saw on Rootsweb where THOMAS JOHN or JOHNS family lived in Cecil County, Maryland ca 1700 before removing to Chester County and on to Loudoun County, Va. Would anyone on the list have any info on the JOHN or JOHNS family ? Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thank You, Marianne Dillow
