I wish to thank the many people who responded to my query on the above subject, the response was overwhelming. My Mothers name was Marie(Dale) McAleese and she was born there in 1904. Her Mother and Father were Ernest & Arabelle Dale. I am researching the McAleese & Dale Families who were in Chester County in the late 1890s and early 1900s. Anyone who would have any information about these two families I would appreciate the information you may have, The McAleese line in Chester County were my Paternal Grandparents Francis H McAleese & Mary(Lahey)McAleese. My Paternal GGrandparents were Thomas McAleese & Margaret McAleese, both of these families were located in West Brandywine Twshp according to the 1900 Federal Census. Appreciate any info on this. Thank You topkicmac @aol.com Bob McAleese
Barbara, William Cobourn was married twice. First to Mary Baker and second to Sarah Flower. Barclay
Barbara, I show Anthony Baldwin 1689/90-1760 married 1 before 1712 to Hannah Cobourn, m 2 c 1729 to Margery Hannum. He had 3 children by wife # 1 and 10 by wife # 2. So you are correct. Barclay

Here is the will of Wm. Coeburn dated 1733 in which he calls Anthony Baldwin his son-in-law, but he does not say which of his daughters is married to Baldwin. Wm. Coeburn's wife is Sarah in his will. Is this a different Wm. than the one named in Barclay's post who had a wife Mary & whose dau. Phoebe married Anthony Baldwin?.. Below the Coeburn will is that of John Hannum dated 1730 in which he calls his daughter Margery the wife of Anthony Baldwin. See the problem? ...Barbara beeezeee@aol.com Chester Co. Pa. I'm trying to filling in gaps in some unrelated families, and I could use some help with Anthony Baldwin of Newlin Twp. Chester Co., son of Thomas, and Anthony's two wives, Hannah Coebourne and Margery Hannum. His will, proved September 5, 1760, mentions Margery his wife, eldest son William, second son Joseph, grandson William Edwards, daughter Elizabeth, brother Thomas then his (Anthony's) youngest children Anthony, George, John, Thomas, Martha, Hannah, Robert, Ann, Margery and Sarah. Was there an elder daughter who married John Williams, son of John and Mary (Ingram) Williams of Middletown Twp., Chester Co. (now Delaware Co.)? Who were Hannah Coebourne's parents? Which children were hers, which Margery's? Many thanks, Karen Greim Mullian booboopies@aol.com zeke196@juno.com karenmullian.homepage.com pastmasters.homepage.com norwoodhistoricalsociety.hompage.com flax4sale.homepage.com
I copied this inscription in a Catholic churchyard in Ballynascreen Parish, County Derry, Ireland: Erected by Loughlin Bradley, Thornville, Chester County, Pennsylvania To the Memory of his father Francis who died the first of February 1858 Aged 74 years I am tracing Hugh and Rose Bradley from Ballynascreen. They and Loughlin, as well as many other Bradleys, lived in Phoenixville from the 1850's. I don't know how Loughlin is connected. Where is Thornville? Does anyone know more about Loughlin, or other Irish Catholic Bradleys? Karen Barth
Does anyone on the list know the location of, or even the potential location of, Lutheran Churches in Coventry Township. Searching for the church attended by Conrad Hardman or Herleman or Harleman. Thanks for your help. Thom Harleman mrtwh@juno.com
Conrad Harleman and family were living in the Coventry Twp of Chester County during the 1820 and 1830 Census. His name was frequently misspelled as Hardeman. Can anyone on the list please check land records to see if he owned property and if so, where? I would greatly appreciate your help. Thom Harleman mrtwh@juno.com
Thought this might come in handy, if you are needing a census look-up from another State. This was on the MODOUGLAS-L list today. PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR LISTS AND FRIENDS ;) Hello Everyone ! I have had to reword and rework the guidelines for the CENSUS-LOOKUP mailing lists and also include subscription instructions. I am sending these below. The lists have been growing like crazy since I created them three days ago and I expect the growth to continue as the word spreads. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you feel may be interested in joining. Of course the more people we have the more help we will be for each other. Please keep in mind that we are only a few days old and if your lookup request is not answered, try again in a week or two. Some of the state lists have already reached over 150 subscribers <G> Others have not been "advertised" as much and have fewer members. Hang in there and don't get discouraged if you're not answered right away. These lists will be a great asset to our research after we reach the people and let them know that these lists are available. I am encouraging everyone to send this email to their surname and county mailing lists as well as to our cousins. Finally, if you have the material to help a fellow researcher, please use it. Thanks, Kelly Kellygirl3398@mpinet.net (Subscription information at the end of this e-mail) PLEASE READ ENTIRE EMAIL!!! ================================== Guidelines for posting to the lists: Established 11 October 2000 EMAIL SUBJECT LINES: COUNTY,YEAR,SURNAME NO FLAMING or you will be unsubbed without notice. By this I mean not only being rude or mean to each other but there will be NO and I do mean NO debating here about the Census Projects. This list is for everyone who wants to research. NO General requests such as "all Smiths in all counties." Be specific. Name the County, Family you are looking for and also the year. Try to supply as much info as possible. LIMIT your requests to ONE PER CENSUS YEAR and SURNAME My Mama taught me that 'Thank you' and 'Please' are always nice too :) A few people have emailed me asking how to sign up for the new lists and what to do. ---------------------------------------------- 1. All lists are XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-D-request@rootsweb.com for digest The XX is to be removed and the two letter abbreviation for the state you are looking in added in its place. Examples: MI-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com CA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com IL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com 2. So, send an email to the one of your choice (make sure to have the state). Put NOTHING in the subject line. In the body of the email write only: subscribe Then send it on :) 3. POSTING to the new census lists: A. Send it to XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com (supply the two letter state code for the XX again) B: Subject line MUST have the following: County/Year/Surname Example: Saginaw/1850/Smith C: In the body of the email: List whom you are looking for. Supply as much information as you can. Birthplace, ages, occupation, etc. D: Mail it on! That's it folks :) I hope that helped. I have put the list of states and two letter codes below for you: AL Alabama AK Alaska AZ Arizona AR Arkansas CA California CO Colorado CT Connecticut DC District Of Columbia DE Delaware FL Florida GA Georgia HI Hawaii ID Idaho IL Illinois IN Indiana IA Iowa KS Kansas KY Kentucky LA Louisiana ME Maine MD Maryland MA Massachusetts MI Michigan MN Minnesota MS Mississippi MO Missouri MT Montana NE Nebraska NV Nevada NH New Hampshire NJ New Jersey NM New Mexico NY New York NC North Carolina ND North Dakota OH Ohio OK Oklahoma OR Oregon PA Pennsylvania RI Rhode Island SC South Carolina SD South Dakota TN Tennessee TX Texas UT Utah VT Vermont VA Virginia WA Washington (state) WV West Virginia WI Wisconsin WY Wyoming Diana
Can anyone on the list provide me with name, address, phone and e-mail if available, for all Lutheran Churches in the Phoenixville Area. Thanks in advance. Thom Harleman mrtwh@juno.com
Hi listers: Does anyone have a list of burials for Oak Grove or Morris Cemeteries? I am looking for Eliza SAVAGE HAWK born 2/26/1815 who was married to Isaac HAWK. They were on the 1850 Census in E Coventry (children Aaron, Lucinda and Emeline) and then on 1860-1870 in Phoenixville, but ELiza was not shown with Isaac there on the 1870. It's possible she died sometime between 1860-1870. Many of her SAVAGE family members are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery and others (her sister and mother) are in Morris Cemetery in Phoenixville. Can anyone help me with location of their burial site? There is an ISAAC HAWK buried at St Peter's but I am not sure that this Isaac is ELiza's husbnad. A newspaper notice showed him to be from S Coventry in 1882, not Phoenixville or E Coventry. Thank you Diana
Thank you all for responding to my message involving 4.0 browsers needed for LDS website. Oh, if we could only upgrade ourselves BUT, WEBTV users cannot upgrade a browser on their own! WEBTV users do not have a disk drive. WEBTV has it own browser which is not any of the ones listed on the LDS Website but is most compatible with Netscape NAVIGATOR. Here is a response I just received from WEBTV people. They are aware of a problem and are working on it. re: [Web_Surfing] 4.0 or higher Browsers [#13026792] Dear Customer, Thank you for writing WebTV. We appreciate your concern. We are aware of this issue and are currently researching it. Unfortunately, we do not have a time estimate for the resolution of this issue, however we are working to create a solution as soon as possible.
