    2. Jon Althouse
    3. I just compiled a list of all the LAMBORN's who appear in the 1880 Pennsylvania Soundex. Rather than sending you all a relatively large e-mail message, I posted it at the LAMBORN forum at: http://genforum.genealogy.com/lamborn/ As the posting there says, if you would like me to send this document to you in a prettier format (it is posted in comma delineated text, but I have it as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet), let me know. I think I can send it as an attachment which is compatible with most spreadsheet software. I can also save it in html or as a Microsoft Word table. Of the 23 LAMBORN Heads of Household, 12 are from Chester Co. and 4 are from Lancaster Co.

    1. [PACHESTE] David Gray's family
    2. Barclay--I, too, have John Gray who married Margaret CHANDLER, d/o Isaac & Esther Chandler Chandler. But I only have data on Margaret, not on John. Can you provide sources for John Gray's birth, death & marriage dates? I have a slightly different death date for Margaret, as well. (13 Jul 1836, rather than 31 Jul 1836) My source, however, is 3rd hand (from a Geo. Chandler family web site). I have the same birth date you have for Margaret from _Early Church Records of Chester Co., Pa. v. 3_ p. 10. Her father, Isaac Chandler was s/o Geo. & Esther Taylor Chandler; her mother Esther Chandler was d/o Swithin & Ann Wilson Chandler. These 2 Chandler lines are connected to common ancestors, Geo. Chandler & his wife, Jane (no surname). Jane married 2 more times: to Wm. Hawkes in 1688 & to Jane Bayliss in 1695. I am interested in the CHANDLERs....Regards, Barbara beeezeee@aol.com

    1. Re: [PACHESTE] Forks of Delaware, PA ~
    2. Hi Jan, The FORKS OF DELAWARE now known as Easton, Northampton Co., PA. What is now known as "The City of Easton" was originally called "The Forks of the Delaware." By this name it was designed by the Indians themselves, long before the appearance of the white man at this beautiful & romantic spot, & though the white man gave it a new name, the Indian to the latest generation clung tenaciously to the title given by his father to the place where the Lehigh River empties its waters into the greater Delaware. Ref: Some Of The First Settlers of "THE FORKS OF THE DELAWARE" and their Descendants, by the Rev. Henry Martyn KIEFFER, D.D. pg. 1 Note: Northampton became a county in 1752 before that it was Bucks Co., PA. There is also an area called JOHNSONVILLE in Northampton Co., PA. The following info was sent to me with no reference: JOHNSONVILLE: No community in all of Northampton Co. has been know by more different names than this small village in Central Upper Mount Bethel Twp. at the headwaters of the Jacoby Creek. It is located NE of Bangor & SW of Echo Lake. The present name is in honor of Gilbert JOHNSON, its founder, being called JOHNSONVILLE in 1870. 1st owner of this land was Alexander CAMPBELL, hence CAMPBELL's Creek. 1st building was erected in 1818 by Jacob STROUSS 1st store Jacob HOUSER. Up until the Civil War the village was called ROXBURG or ROCKSBURG. Jacob STIER came here abt. 1846 & sometimes the village was called STIER. The names JOHNSONVILLE, STIER & ROXBURG were used interchangeable by map makers. JOHNSONVILLE is the most commonly used name. The name of the Post Offices in this area were: Boston (1850) Kautatunchunk (1850) Kittatinny (until 1862) Boston (again in 1862) Johnsonville (1866 until 1917) Stier (1917-1933 when closed & the service is now from Bangor) Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) In a message dated 10/22/0 4:07:46 PM, WildBillHk@aol.com writes: << In ZOPHER JOHNSON's Revolutionary War pension papers, he states that he was born in the FORKS OF DELAWARE, PA ca 1762. 1. [PACHESTE] more on Enoch Gray/Grey
    2. I have a bit more on the children of Enoch Grey & Margery (possibly Baldwin). The dau. Susannah, named in Enoch's will, married Enoch Pearson 29th day of 11th mo. 1787 Bradford MM. He was called "s/o Wm. & Elizabeth Pearson of the Twp. of East Bradford (the former dec'd)" & she was called "d/o Enoch & Margery Gray of the same place." And the dau. Elizabeth who is termed Elizabeth Swayne in Enoch's will (dated April 30, 1819) may have been married first to Thos. Kester on 23rd day 12mo 1784 again at Bradford MM. The marriage record says he is s/o Harmon & Ann Kester & Elizabeth is "d/o Enoch Gray and Margery his wife of the Twp. of East Bradford." ...Barbara beeezeee@aol.com
