Is anyone researching the Thorne family in Chester Co, PA? I am looking for info to document an Ann Thorne's existence. Ann Thorne was born in 1819 in Highland, Chester Co, PA to Thomas Bissell Thorne and Hannah Davis. Ann married Thomas Humphrey in 1847. Ann died in 1851 and is buried at Friends Burial Ground, Ercildon, Chester Co, PA. Hello to the list participants. I want to connect with some people in the West Chester area who might be willing to help me with a project. I am helping organize the Tri-Centennial of the Henry Hayes family settling in Chester County (I call it "H3C"). We are getting good cooperation from the folks at the Chester County Historical Society regarding their facilities and resources. This event will be help August 5 & 6, 2005. In addition, however, I am trying to identify one or several individuals who can help us with some local "footwork". Since we (the H3C organizers) are all over the map (I'm in Miami, FL) we need some local help. An example of the kind of thing I'm looking for is someone who can help identify locations, buildings, landmarks that are relevant to the Henry Hayes family. I have maps, some photos, and ideas of what to look for. A person from West Chester might know this stuff already. I was in West Chester for one day last fall, but was not able to locate things on my list. (But what a charming place it is!!) So, if you have any contacts, or ideas about people who might have the knowledge, time, and inclination to assist, I will be grateful. We can afford a small amount for compensation.
