Volumes 1-3 are available, covering 1800-1885. The Centre Co. Marriage CD includes all marriages on vols. 1-3 (though not in as much detail) as well as nearly 800 additional marriages found in records discovered since these books were published. It is indeed unfortunate that Pennsylvania did not standardize marriage recording until 1885, and many marriages were conducted without a record being made. This is evident from many Civil War pension files I have ordered, which generally have listed marriage dates, but when asked for a source or record, most people could only claim a certificate in their possession, a family Bible, or memory. Occasionally transcripts were made from J.P. dockets for the pension files, so we know they existed, but these were privately held and we know the whereabouts of only a handful today.
