    3. It likely depends upon the time frame. Can Michele help us there? Clearfield County was not well-settled until the early 1800s and the town of Morrisdale came even later than that. What became Montgomery County, on the other hand, was well settled by the mid-1700s.     3. Sure, I can! Ellis Evans was born in 1788 in "Morristown." Ellis' sisters were born in "Sherman's Valley," or "Germantown," depending on who you ask. Ellis' obituary claims that he was born in Centre County. His father, William was born in Wales and settled in Chester County when he was about 25 years old. That must have been about the mid 1700's. He died in Lock Haven.
