>From "Where To Go & Placenames of Centre Co." : "Coleville, a town on Buffalo Run, Spring Twp., just outside the western boundary of Bellefonte, was laid out in March, 1869, by John COLE, who purchased several acres of land from the W.A. THOMAS estate. Ten or so houses were built that year. Today (1969) there are 100 or more houses and the population is estimated at approximately 700. Coleville is principally an industrial town with the National Gypsum Co. plant several miles further west in Buffalo Valley and the WARNER Co. plant at its eastern limits. The shops of the Bellefonte Central Railroad are located here." Regards, Paul
