    3. I am seeking family information on the Nathan Harvey's for 2 different Nathans. 1st. Nathan Harvey Per Linns History, Came to Lower Bald Eagle in 1804, in 1805 built store and mill. built his forge in 1812. Then Nathan and Samuel Harvey had a Fulling Mill in 1815. (This was the Mill Hall area, then Nathan was instrumental in forming th Borough of Mill Hall) (Now Clinton County) In 1817 Nathan had a sawmill and Press. in 1827 he is listed as having 2 stores. in 1832 he had a post office in Mill Hall Then on page 204 he is listed as dying in Illinois 4/12/1847 age 47. I believe this to be about the same Nathan Harvey. 2nd Nathan Harvey, was part of the 7th PA Calvary he was killed in Tennessee in 1862, and his na,e is on the Soldiers marker at Cedar Hill cemetery(1827-1862) Lamar Twp., Clinton County, PA. Bunch of questions, are these two Father and son, a nephew? Are these Harveys related to the Harvey family who were part of the creation of Castanea, Clinton County, Pa. Any and all help appreciated. Thanks, Dave

    3. Hi Dave: I can't answer your exact question but I may have some clues for you. Thomas Armstrong SMITH (sometimes known as Armstrong Smith) bought two lots from Nathan and Samuel Harvey in Mill Hall in 1833. T.A. Smith was the first saddler in Mill Hall and is my second great grandfather. Deed was recorded 29 Jan 1833 in Vol. I, p. 355, Centre County. On Jan. 3, 1833 "Nathan Harvey of Mill Hall Bald Eagle Township, County of Centre and State of Pennsylvania Ironmaster and Juliet his wife & Samuel Harvey of Germantown in the County of Philadelphia and State aforesaid Merchant and Sarah his wife....." The lots are Nos. 3 and 24 on the plan of Mill Hall. Thomas Armstrong SMITH (1794-1874) and his wife Beulah TEMPLETON (1803-1882) took their family to IL and eventually setteld in Iowa sometime after the death of his father Gideon SMITH (1752-1841). I haven't posted my names on the Centre roll call because their area of Bald Eagle is now in Clinton County.
