I often go into AOL's geneology chat room. Last night, [email protected] and I were in at the same time. I am searching for several lines in my family. One last name is Vlachos. I happened sto mention that my great-grandfather Petros Vlachos was a baker who sold flour all over the Mediterranean before he came to this country c. 1904 and eventually established and ran the Marathon Bakery in Altoona, PA. He was my maternal grandmother's father, and I would appreciate any information on him and/or his bakery. I know he wore a mourning band because my great-uncle Gregory (his oldest son) died in the flu epidemic after WWI. Alexis Francos p.s. I'm not sure how he spelled his name in English, but it sounds slavic, and my grandparents did, according to my mother, talk about Roumania.
