Nicholas Kephart and Mary Catherine (Katy) Smith married in 1797. They and their families lived in Northumberland then Centre County before moving to Osceola Mills in Clearfield Co Katy was the daughter of Stephen Smith and Mary Elizabeth TROUP or STROUP or STRAUB. Stephen's father was John SMITH (now there's an unusual name to search). A history of Venango County says from France but have no reason to accept this.
