    1. [PACENTRE] 1910 Lime Kiln in Spring Twp

    3. I found a family living in an apartment house (apparently) in 1910 in Spring Township. The occupation of the head of the household was lime kiln. I'd like to figure out just where they might have lived in Spring Township. Where would lime kilns have been in Spring township in that era that was populous enough to have an apartment building with maybe 6 or 8 families? Pleasant Gap? Axeman? elsewhere? You might also enjoy the very legible spelling of the family name: it was actually Sabetta, but it was written as Elizabeth. This is a surname! Obviously a very thick Italian accent threw the enumerator off on what was said! The only way I found this family on Ancestry's census was to bracket the age and give birth place as Italy and residence as Centre County. It was a needle in a small haystack, thank goodness. Thank you, Ellen Copper
