    3. We must be happy that any records exist for this cemetery, considering how early the initial burials were. Many older cemeteries have no burial records! The publication that the genealogical society is compiling will include currently unmarked burials in Bellefonte Union Cemetery that have been located in the following sources: inventory from the 1920s to 1940s compiled by Adella Fink Spangler burials from the St. John's Episcopal Church burial records burials from the existing cemetery records burials from the Centre County death records (these records cover only the years 1893-1905) It will be as complete as we can make it, but I'm sure there will be many burials still unrecorded! If you have proof of an unmarked burial in this cemetery (a death certificate, an obituary, funeral director's record, or an estate record that includes the location of burial) the genealogical society will include the name and death date of your ancestor. For this information to be included, you must snail mail a copy of the proof of burial to the genealogical society before the end of May, 2010 to: Publications Committee Centre County Genealogical Society PO Box 1135 State College, PA 16804-1135 Keep in mind that there are numerous cemeteries in Centre County that are 'Union Cemetery' so the record must reflect that it is the one in Bellefonte.
