Hello list - Since I hadn't seen anything about this resource on the list, I thought it might help some folks that might not know that you can access all of the Centre County Recorder's documents online. The link is: http://webia.co.centre.pa.us/login.asp Previously, you could view the indexes, but there were no documents available. Now, however, you can search, view, print, and save the actual deeds and other documents. Based on the searches I've done, the database appears to be complete - from county formation through now. It's not free, but it's a pretty good value. You purchase credits that allow you a certain number of clicks. A click appears to register each time you do a search, as well as each document link you click on within those search results. They also seem to have added a $25 sign up fee, although I may have paid that before when I signed up a couple of years ago- I can't remember. Another feature of this system that might be of use to some is the GIS mapping section. Probate, Prothonotary, and Tax office documents are also available, but they only include recent information - not the "historical " stuff we are interested in. Hopefully they will continue to add documents from those offices in the future. If you want to take a look at how it works, I have a brief tutorial on my blog at http://www.staatsofohio.com/?p=451 Chris Staats
