Ellen, This may be info you already have, but OneWorldTree at Ancestry.com shows Matlock Kephart Tate dying 5 Mar 1954 at Washington. That's as much as it says so I don't know if that means Washington state, Washington, D.C., Washington, Ohio, or what. His wife is named in said record as Mildred Markley, and it shows only the one child (as you named). Fred Houts
