Nicholas was my 4th great grandfather. I descend from his son George Crispin. This is my line of descent from Nicholas......George Crispin, William Crispin, Cornelius Wayne Crispin, Frederick Madison Crispin (my father). George and family settled in the Jefferson County, PA area....near what is now Clear Creek State Park. I have not found George's tombstone, but have found William's stone and have much, much info on William's family and forward. I would love to trade info. I have been working on this family for many, many years, and keep getting stuck beyond Nicholas. I have been "counting" Peter (Sr) as my ancestor although I do not have 100% proof of this....or 100% proof of Peter's father. I have in my records, that Peter Crispin's wife was Mary Frey (Fry).....but since she was not listed in his will, I do not have solid proof. I'm almost thinking that she might be in the will, but the will is unreadable where her na! me is noted???? There is a Mary Crispin in the 1820 census in Centre County (which would be 2 years after Peter's death). You asked if I had seen the Crispin entries in the Centre County Spangler notebooks in Bellefonte Library....I have not. Much interested in following that pathway, though. I am going to go back to my records and see what I have for Nicholas's children....please e-mail me tscrispin@aol.com....anxious to hear from you, cousin!! (P.S.....I live in Ohio.....it's about 2 hours plus over to Jefferson County and I would guess another couple of hrs to Centre...) I have never been to Centre County to do any research.....sounds like I need to make a trip. Where do you live????? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
