Hello, I am a new subscriber and am searching for information about my second greatgrandmother, Mary DOLAN, b. 1825 County Galway, Ireland; md. Patrick KELLY (no dates known); d. 1890 Allegheny City, Allegheny Co., PA; buried St. Mary's cemetery, Lawrenceville, Allegheny Co., PA. Mary had two brothers, Martin DOLAN (1822, Ireland--1872, Fayette Co., PA) md. to Ida UNKNOWN. Martin served as a Captain of Co. F, 148th PA Infantry in the Civil War. I have recently been supplied information that indicates Martin lived in Centre Co., before migrating west to Fayette Co., PA. Mary's second brother was Thomas DOLAN md. to Julia KANE. I have the following questions. 1.) If Mary and her brothers, Martin and Thomas left Ireland, either before or after the "Famine", and settled in Centre Co., would they have debarked at the Port of Philadelphia, or could they possibly have come through New York, or even Canada? 2.) What are the names of Catholic churches, ca. 1850 in Centre Co., that would have marriage or baptism records for this time period? Specifically searching for a baptism for my greatgrandmother, Mary Ann KELLY, dau of Mary DOLAN and Patrick KELLY. 3.) Reportedly the DOLAN brothers were involved in oil drilling in the Centre Co., area. Does anyone have any information or sources that might list their names? Thank you very much for your time.
