Jim in Clearfield County Jim, you can order the necessary NATF Form 85 online at http://www.nara.gov/research/ordering/ordrfrms.html NATF Form 85 is for requesting Military pension and bounty land warrant records, 1775-1916. Once you receive the form, fill it out as completely as you can and return it to NARA. Instructions are included with the form. Then be prepared to wait . . . it says on the form that it takes 8 to 10 weeks, but it took 6 months to get John A. Curry's Civil War pension file. Hope this helps. Until it does, "no completed orders are being mailed to customers," according to a recent NARA statement. Those orders include all NATF 81-86 requests for passenger arrival and census records, Eastern Cherokee applications, land records, pension applications and military service records. Orders addressed to NARA's College Park, Md., mailroom were not affected by the anthrax threats.
