Doris, Since you say he was born in Huntingdon County in 1792 have you checked the tax records of Huntingdon County for that year to see if there are any Cox living in Huntingdon County? Or perhaps the 1790 and 1800 census can help you meet that same need. The tax lists are, I believe, on file in the Huntingdon County Historical Society in Huntingdon, PA, and there are copies at the Blair County Genealogical Society in Hollidaysburg, PA. Perhaps this will give you some leads. You may then want to search the deeds and wills for any evidence that would relate Cox names in the area to your Marshall, or at least put them in the same area, and establish a link via circumstantial evidence.
