Does just being in the Militia "count" as being a "Soldier in the Revolutionary War".......... I cannot answer Fred's question with any certainty - but I think land was offered to any one who assisted with the war effort. On the highway west of Pine Grove Mills is a DAR marker on the highway which I believe refers to my ancestor, George MEEK, another ancestor John GLENN and _______ Borland (to whom I am not related - so far as I know). George MEEK is the one I referred to in my previous post. I think, if I remember correctly, the marker refers to the three men as Revolutionary Soldiers. I don't have my notes available so I cannot be sure. George MEEK did hold the rank of Private, so I would think that would refer to a soldier. Perhaps someone who knows more than I do can be more positive about this.
