    3. Hi All, I am trying to find the parents of John Meese (ca. 1801-1855) m. Mary Neece (1806-1877). John seems connected in various ways to Centre County but I am unable to link him to anyone. All I have are a few clues: 1. In the 1830 census, he appears in Hepburn Twp. Lycoming Co. Interesting enough, Michael Meese (1777-1843) from Centre Co. is in the neighboring Loyalsock Twp. Michael who was a resident of Centre since about 1800 seems to have moved by the 1830 census. By the 1840 census, he is back in Centre again. The other interesting thing is that my ancestor John's wife Mary, was from Loyalsock. This could all be coincidence of course. 2. In the 1840 Census, my ancestor John is living in Half Moon Twp. Centre Co. He moves back to Lycoming for a few years and then on to Clearfield Co. about 1845. 3. The Meases in Centre County were sent there to manage and develop the land owned by their father Johan Gerhard Mies (1746- 1805). I suspect Johan Gerhard purchased the land as a venture for development. What is interesting is that this is what my ancestor John seemed to do - buy large pieces of land, cut off the timber and sell it. They would also farm the land as it was being developed. I suspect my ancestor is related in some way to the Centre Co. Meases - possibly a nephew to Johan Gerhard. Anyone have any info on the Centre Co. Meases? Thanks Tim Mease
