Christy, Could this be Bruce Henry Smith's second wife? Her obituary in the CENTRE DAILY TIMES of 21 Sep 2001 reads: "Eleanor S. Smith, 94, of Bellefonte died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Centre Crest nursing home in Bellefonte. Born March 26, 1907, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late James and Catherine Rohrbaugh Mitchell. She married Percy B. Spicer, who preceded her in death. She then married Bruce Henry Smith, who died April 23, 1972. She attended St. John's Catholic Church School in Bellefonte. She was a former member of the auxiliary of the Bellefonte Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1600. She retired from Penn State and for several years following her retirement, worked at Centre Crest nursing home in Bellefonte. She belonged to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in State College. She is survived by by two daughters, Patricia Z. Gearhart and Violet M. Smith, both of State College; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Johann J. Meek; a son, Gerald J. Spicer, five sisters and three brothers. She was the last of her generation. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Wetzler Funeral Home, 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Philip M. Bender officiating. Burial will be in Centre Hall Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Gray's Woods Boulevard, State College, PA 16801." Info I have indicates that Bruce Henry Smith, her husband, was a son of Bruce H. SMITH and a Miss MEYERS. Eleanor is kin to me through her mother and her first husband, Percy Boyd SPICER (1907-1980), whom she divorced before marrying Bruce Smith in 1963. Could he have been previously married with children of his own? You may well want to contact Patricia Z. (Mrs. Harry) Gephart, and Violet M. (Mrs. Clayton) Smith, the daughters of Percy and Eleanor. They may know something of this.
