Many years ago, my mother's cousin sent her the following information. She had been researching the Bechdel family as we are descendants of David and Christina Working Bechdel. I don't know if this will help but may be clues for Franklin. Listed among the ten children of David and Christina Working Bechdel is: "Franklin Bechdel, born in 1840. Regarding him, we have no further certain information. So far, it has been impossible to ascertain whether or not he was the same "Frank Bechdel" who lived in Belleplain, Minnesota, in the latter 1890's or early 1900's. Elderly descendants of the Working brothers recall hearing their parents speak of visiting such a person, related to them, in their youths. It's possible that this relative was Franklin, the son of Christina Working Bechdel." Judy
