    1. Re: [PACENTRE] JAMES HAYS & ESTHER HEVERLY
    2. Jean, There is a connection to a Mackeyville HAYS family in a line I am searching that might connect to yours. 1880 Census, Lamar Twp., Clinton Co., PA (90-91): John McCaleb, age 73, farmer, Martha McCaleb, age 65, wife, keeping house, Albert R. 26, son, farmer, Mary 22, daughter in law, housekeeper, John Hays, age 74, uncle (single), Lorenz Robbins, age 26, farm laborer. All born PA, as were parents. From the CLINTON DEMOCRAT of 4 Jan 1883: “Died, Dec. 23, 1882, of pneumonia, at residence of Mr. McCalip, near Mackeyville, Pa., Mr. John Hays, aged 79 years, 7 months, and 14 days.” What I would like to know is whether he is the John W. Hays who married Isabella --- (1814-1849) and had Margaret E., who married William Leathers and moved to Kansas. If not, who was that John W. Hays and what became of him? Any light you can shed on this would be great. Thanks!
