    3. Hi all -- Since registering with this board, I have gotten tremendous help and made substantial progress on my research on descendents of James Watson who came to Centre County sometime before 1789. He was one of two James Watsons in the area at the time and another James seemed to have come from Ireland a bit later. So many people have helped, but I want to thank Jean Corio in particular for her information on marriages which have been extremely helpful. At this point, I have information on 10 of the 13 children of James Watson. I am still looking for research on the following: John Watson, born about 1774(?), son of James and Ann (Evans) Watson. He appears to be the oldest son and was alive in 1822 when James made out his will. James Watson, born March 20, 1783, alive in 1822. He was also the son of James and his first wife Ann. All I know about James is that he may have managed a hotel and tavern, later known as the Conrad House, for his brother-in-law John Irvin and he was the witness to the will of John Irvin of Harris Township in 1843. John Irvin was the father of General James Irivn, the benefactor of State College. Hattie Watson seemed to be a younger child and was the daughter of James and his second wife Agnes Graham. Hattie is mentioned in the will and no place else that I can find. If anyone could add to any of this information, I would appreciate it. Also, if anyone would like any of the information I have put together about this Watson line, please let me know. Again, sincere thanks for all your help! Janet Watson
