Liz, I would call that a survey or draft of the property. These are very valuable documents. Without it you'd have to get the deed and draw it out by hand or using a program such as Black Oak Mapper, which I just happen to have. <grin> Now, using subsequent deeds or the county tax maps you should be able to identify this parcel in the present-day and be able to locate it.
