The J.B Kreamer in 1880 was 36. His wife, Joanna was 32. That fits the information you sent. The 1880 Census shows three daughters: Mary age 10; Gertrude age 7; Ada age 3. There is also an Emanuel Confer, male, age 13, relationship OTHER, living with the family. It appears that both Mary Deobler and Emanuel Confer were boarding or working for the Kreamers. I think it was pretty common for children to be farmed our to other families during this time frame. Does anyone know how that worked? Were the children paid or were their parents compensated or was it simply some families had too many mouths to feed? I'm curious about the practice. Diana
