    1. [PACENTRE] Hetrina & Johan Christian Reese

    3. I was searching through the Hetrina book (Hessian soldiers who fought during the American Revolution, marburg Archives) at the National Archives for information on John Christian Reese. To make a long amusing story short, I was not able to copy the pages from the book because I had locked by purse in a locker and did not have the additional quarter necessary to open the locker, extract my money and lock it up again! I therefore copied down the following information on what I think might be information on John Christian Reese's brother Johannes Conrad Ries. 1. 6049 2. Riess 3. Konrad 4. 1760/61 5. Schrecksbach 6. D 3579 7. GE 8. Huy1 9. 01 10. 5.1776 11. 51231 2nd entry 1. 6050 2. Riess 3. Konrad 4. 0/0 5. Schrecksbach 6. D3579 7. GE 8. Huy1 9. 07 10. 5.1778 11. 8878.39 Here is the key to the section numerals: 1. number of unit in the computer list 2. family name 3. first name (often abbreviated in case of several first names) 4. year of birth (based on entry of unit books) 5. place of origin (historical place names after slash; names in parenthesis are aids to location) 6. code number for the towns 7. rank 8. unit 9. date of entry in unit books (month & year) 10. archive code of the source GE : Private (Gemeiner) HUY1: von Huyn Garrison Regiment, 1780 Von Benning, after 1783 Von Norman for #9 in first entry: 01: appointed, especially in unit roles for #9 in 2nd entry: 07: died of disease, by accident or other cause non-battle causes .I'll be going back later this week to copy all the pages that seem relevant to John Christian Reese. I must say, I did not see any other Riess, Ries, etc..from Schrecksbach though....but I have heard that John Christian Reese is listed in the Hetrina. Is anyone on the list familiar with both John Christian Reese and the Hetrina books. I think he fought under Kynphausen or Von Donop (sp) at the Battle of Trenton. Any additional clues on how to find him would be helpful...I am happy to send copies of the pages I xerox as well. Sara
