Hi list, We have a Catherine DOUGHERTY, b. abt 1800 whose surname was obtained from her daughter's death certificate. Catherine DOUGHERTY married Philip HILE/HYLE, b. abt 1797 in Berks Co., PA. According to a Willard L. Shank of Lewistown, Mifflin Co., PA, Philip and Catherine (DOUGHERTY) HILE are buried in Old Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Near Siglerville, Armagh Twp., Mifflin Co., PA in unmarked graves. We have quite a bit of information/data on the children of Philip and Catherine (DOUGHERTY) HILE/HYLE. Two of their daughters, Elizabeth and Evangeline married WIAN brothers. Specifically, Elizabeth HILE m. Peter WIAN on 5 May 1855 Kish Valley, Mifflin Co., PA and Evangeline HILE m. John WIAN abt. 1851 in Huntingdon Co., PA. The WIAN brothers both being sons of Solomon WIAN (1803 - 1879) and Catherine REARICK (1810 - 1891). Willing to share data on what we have and would like to learn more about how Catherine DOUGHERTY might tie into the Abel DOUGHERTY family. All the other DOUGHERTY's might be brother's or cousins, but too young to be her father.
