John T. Waring John T. Waring, 100, a resident of the Presbyterian Home of the Moshannon Valley, formerly of rural Philipsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Philipsburg Area Hospital. Born July 28, 1901, in West Decatur, he was a son of the late Frank Bowman and Florence Curley Waring. In 1934 he married Elizabeth McCullough, who died March 8, 1981. He was a farmer. He belonged to the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 391 of Philipsburg, the Williamsport Consistory, the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona and the Moshannon Grange 1272. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in West Decatur. He is survived by two sons, David L. of Rochester, N.Y., and Lynn M. of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 13 sisters and brothers. He was the last of his generation. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. in Philipsburg. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn P. Gearhart officiating.
