Fred, Am confused... are you related to HOY? The reason am asking is because my mother is a HOYE descendant, but from the "southern branch" -- GA and MS. We can only trace back to James Catherel HOY(E) - b 02/18/1805 Madison Co., GA d 08/25/1885 Union, Newton Co., MS. We believe, however, that his father was William HOY, born in Scotland, stayed in PA for awhile, and then headed south to NC and GA. A number of years ago, my grandmother knew some HOYs that lived on the corner of Simms St and Ralston Rd in Arvada, on what was left of their farm. Am sure they're long deceased now.
