As the web site shows, there are problems using these disks. I had problems finding people on these disks in the counties in which I had earlier seen them on the census for 1880. Also, since the names are transcribed, they can be highly inaccurate. Unless you are very familiar with the names in the area as they are in the actual census who would ever think of looking under "Bloomcord" for "Brungard" as one example. However, I searched for the name Heckel and when I couldn't locate the party I was seeking, I keyed in "Heckle" and all sorts of related spellings came up. I found that to be valuable (but, alas, did not find the Heckel I was looking for!).. Like any other such disk, it is a tool and can be very helpful.
