    1. [PACENTRE] John ROACH obit & queries
    2. >From the Centre Democrat & Farmers Journal, 22 March 1848 SUDDEN DEATH Mr. John ROACH a resident of Spring township in this county, was found dead on the road between Bellefone and his residence near Rock Iron Works. He had been in town the evening before in perfect health. Appearances seemed to indicate that he had fallen down in a fit to which he was at times subject. --------------- List members--- I am trying to discover if this is "my" John ROACH (married Nancy EDMINSTON, and had children Robert A in 1838; Wilson L in 1840; Sarah E in 1843; James H in 1846; and Anna Bell in 1848/49 (my gggmother, who married John McMANAMY) Can anyone help me with these questions: -- what census E.D. would I check for someone who lived "near Rock Iron Works"??? -- the phrase "he had been in town" -- does that refer to Bellefonte? -- any idea where I might look for a marriage record for John +Nancy (first child Robert A. Roach born June, 1838...Nancy was born 1820; have no birth date for John) -- the 1840 Federal census index for Patten Twp (where in Blair is that?) lists a John Roach on page 186. Does anybody have access to that census??? Any leads/help appreciated! Luann (DDuBarry@aol.com)
