Karl, I was scanning my shelves this evening and happened to find a copy of Norman F. Douty's 1974 work, "The Douty - Smith and Beck - Price Families." I found a Mary Price who is probably your Maria. On page 109 of his work he mentions a Jacob Price (b. perhaps 1794; d 1847); married Sophia. Among their children, he names the first as Mary. Douty writes: "After Jacob's death, the family evidently moved to Stephenson Co., Ill., as most of its members were there in 1891, when Sophia Price (now Sophia Lauber) died, probably in her nineties."
