Thanks to Joyce Adgate, librarian at the PA Room, Centre Co. Library & Hist. Museum, I think I have finally located my 2nd greatgrandfather, Patrick KELLY!!! Joyce was kind enough to do a search for a reference to another ancestor, Martin DOLAN, brother of Patrick Kelly's wife, Mary Ann DOLAN. In the copies she sent was included xerox copies of a Decl. of Intent for a Patrick KELLY, 27 Aug, 1844, age 26 years, native of Co. Galway, Ireland. This data pretty much "fits the bill" for my ancestor. My next step is to write for his Naturalization papers, and am hoping someone on the list can provide the address for the courthouse in Bellefonte that would have a record for this.
