    2. Marybeth, The 148th was known as the "Centre Co. Regiment." The 45th and 49th also contained many Centre Countians. Some of mine also served in the 110th and the 34th Regt., 5th Reserves. You need to check Samuel P. Bates' book "History of the Pennsylvania Volunteers 1861-5," published 1869. If you don't have access to one, subscribe to the PA Civil War list at Rootsweb as they are very helpful. I don't have the exact name of it here but I know I am subscribed. <grin> Patrick doesn't show up in Linn's History, which chronicles many (but not all) of the Centre Co. Civil War soldiers.
