    3. I am looking for any information regarding my ggg grandfather John Niesz born in Aaronsburg, PA in 1798. Does anyone have any information as to where I might start. Sincerely, Dianna _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

    3. Dianna, Have you tried the censuses for 1800 through his date of death? Look for someone with the same or similar surname. Try some spellings that sound like Niesz - census takers often guessed! In Pennsylvania for 1790, for example, there are lots of people named Nace in Berks and Bucks County. In Dauphin County, there is a Nease and a Neese and several Nighs. There are also Nice, Nace, Naess, etc. By 1810, there are three strong possibilities in Haines Township, which is where Aaronsburg is located. William, Peter and Philip Nice, on pages 191 and 192. Philip and Peter both have a son in the 10-15 year old bracket, and so does William. I would guess that one of these is your John's family. You can contact the Centre County library Pennsylvania Room to request lookups. They have a great deal of information there. Also, Justin Houser (JKHouser84@aol.com) does research in Centre County for a very reasonable fee. He knows the area as well as anyone. My Brillharts lived in Aaronsburg at the same time as your Nices/Nieszs. I'll try to remember to keep an eye open for the name. In two separate messages, I am sending you copies of the 1810 census entries. They will be sent as attachments. Please let me know if you are not able to open them, and I will try sending them a different way. Good luck in your research!
