    3. Do you have any info on the following?: FIRST GENERATION 1. John COONEY died on June 19, 1864 in Richmond, Chesterfield Co., VA. Confederate prison. His cause of death was wounds received in the Civil War. John enlisted in F Co., 148th Inf. Reg. of PA on 1 Sep 1862 as a private and died as a prisoner at Richmond, VA. according to the History of Pennsylvania Volunteers 1861-1865 published 1870. Record 961101. He was married to Anna HOOVER about 1860. Anna HOOVER was also known as Hannah. John COONEY and Anna HOOVER had the following children: +2 i. Regiment - the 45th PVI This little blurb from "The History of the 45th Regiment" Grit 1912 said "No Regiment in the 9th Corp. lost so many men in action as the 45th PA" Israel Hoover enlisted 16 Aug 1861 in Co A 45th Regt. He was severely wounded at Antietam 17 Sept. 1862, and returned to duty 19 Mar 1863. Mustered out 17 Jul 1865. This is my grgrgrandfather. He's buried in the Askey Cemetery, Centre Co. Other Centre Co. members of Co A 45th were. William P. Grove Lt., died of wounds. Buried at National Cemetery, Antietam. Andrew Grove, Cpl., died at Andersonville. These 2 were brothers, sons of Henry & Margaret Row Grove. Samuel Wheeler, of Boggs Twp mustered out 9 Jul 1865 I have pension and military records of these 4 soldiers if anyone needs information.
