Author: jhassinger_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.centre/1817.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Catherine J. "Kate" Barnhart, daughter of Henry and Isabella Holt Barnhart was not married to William Butler of Boggs Township, Centre County, PA. She was married to James M. Kinports on 18 Jul 1854. The name "Kinports" is shown as "Kimport" in the Centre County, PA Marriage Records and in her brother Philip Barnhart's biography in the Commemorative Biographical Record of Central Pennsylvania but it seems that the correct name is actually Kinports. The "Catherine" married to William Butler of Boggs Township,Centre County, PA was about 20 years older than Catherine J. Barnhart Kinports. Catherine Butler (wife of William & mother of 7 children) and Catherine Barnhart (daughter of Henry and Isabella) are both shown on the same census page in the 1850 census in Boggs Township, Centre County, PA William and Catherine Butler and their son James are my ancestors and I too would very much like to find out who William's father was and the correct maiden name of Catherine. My grandmother was Daisy Townsend til she married Floyd Freeman Laduew in Elmira, NY. Elizabeth Barnhardt Townsend was her mother. My great grand mother died in 1960, when I was 4 yrs old and I remember her as a very kind loving woman. Unfortunately, her grand children are all dead now and so the only other information I can give you is where Elizabeth (or as we knew her Grandma Eliza) is buried. She is buried in a cemetary between Beaver Dams and Corning NY, and her grave is close to the enterence. I can't remember what the name of the cemetary is. I do know that it is a small one and her last name at the time of burial was Southard. She married again after my Great Grandfather passed.
