    2. Hi Looking for anyone who might know anything about or have a connection to Jane Blanding. I have nothing to go on except an old photo marked on the back "Mrs Jane Blanding Nee McCauley" with no studio name or location. The McCauley family that she would have been part of were located in Centre Co & Hunting Co. Pa from the early 1800 thru today. She may have been a sister to Wm. C. McCauley, b. 21 May 1823, Philadelphia Pa. d. 4 June 1864 (Sergt in Co.E, 184 th Regt, P.V. killed in the Civil War at Cold Harbor Va.) Married: Mary C. "Molly" Glenn [b. 21 April 1826 d. 24 Jan. 1911] on 8 March 1849. Thanks Ed McCauley mccauleykinfoke@aim.com

    2. I hated to pay for the Civil War Widow Pension Records since I think they are over $60.00. They used to be $10.00. I guess I just keep digging. Dorcas B. Dorcas. You can get the abbreviated pension record at NARA for $25. They claim that for $25 they will select the documents that are most closely related to genealogy/family history from the file. Whether this is a valid claim or not, I don't know, but it beats paying outrageous fees, unless, of course, you can afford them.
