    3. Am I the only person annoyed by the format of the posts that are gatewayed from the Centre Co web site? I receive the digest form of the Centre Co list, and today's digest contains 6 gateway items about the "Young / Shope" family and another about a Gardner family. I enjoy reading gatewayed items, but when they don't contain any hints of a time period for the individuals named in the posting, there is no simple way to help the person. There are too many of these in each digest for me to click on each link to go back to the original posting on the topic. Sorry to complain, but there are also posts directly to the list that don't mention a time period or any date. A good query should include name(s), date, and place at the very least. Ellen

I've gotten sidetracked from my research by the birth of my first grand baby (Madison Gracie Lee), but am trying to get back on track a bit. I'm still working on this same part of the family, but have had no luck yet. Although I have talked to a few people researching the same part of the family, but everyone seems to be stuck just like we are. I just know someone out there has the one piece of info we all need to make the puzzle fit. My hope is that they see some of these messages and reply to us. I would be very grateful for anything you can share on this family and likewise if I have any breakthroughs I'll be sure and let you know. Julia Young (Maggie's sister) is my husbands gg grandmother. We aren't even 100% sure of their mother's name as we are having lots of trouble piecing this portion of the family together. However I have pieced together (from obits and censuses) the following children of William Young and Anna Watkins: John Wesley Young Margery J. Young-? Ellis L. Young Julia A. Young-Shope Andrew Young Irvin Young Nancy (Nannie) Young-Watkins Margaret (Maggie) Young-Gummo Emma Young-? Julia's obit specifically mentions her surviving brothers John Wesley and Ellis Young and her surviving sisters Nannie Young-Watkins and Maggie Young-Gummo. In this obit her parents are listed as William Young and Ideanna Watkins. However on Julia's death certificate her parents are listed as William Young and Julia Watkins. This is why I think there is some trouble getting info on this family. I hope I haven't confused you further. Let me know if you think I can be of any help to you and I would be very interested in any info you would care to share. ~Chris DeVelbiss-Bantz Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
