    3. I have nothing concrete to offer, Fred, but I think the Dershems originally came from Union County. Just a recollection. 1. [PACENTRE] Surname: Deschmier / Derscherman
    2. Can anyone tell me anything further about this name (or names)? Centre Co. Mar. records show -- Barbara Deschemier - m. 21 Nov 1839 Adam Waltenberger (misspelled in mar. index as Walterberger) This was Adam Waltenberger's 2nd mar. His 1st mar. was to Anna Maria "Polly" Rishel (1789-1838). Per Amber Rishel Keene's book on the RISHEL Family (p 13), Anna Maria was the dau. of Martin Luther and Catherine (Derscherman) Rishel. I'm wondering if these surnames (Deschemier / Derscherman) are corruptions of something else. I cannot find any other Centre County Families that they would seem to fit into. Do any of you have any clues or factual knowledge for me on these people? There are other Dershem marriages in Centre Co., but none preceding the mid 20th century. There are also Derschems buried in the St. John's (Union) Cem, at Farmers Mills, Gregg Township, Centre Co., near the Waltenbergers. It seems likely these are kin, but I'd like proof (or "strong clues"). Can anyone help? Fred Houts, Minn.

    3. Cornelia, I don't remember seeing separate Administrator's Bond books as I have other places, but you could check directly with either the PA Room (paroom@centrecountylibrary.org) or the Register of Wills (row@co.centre.pa.us). I checked the Family History Catalog to see if they had microfilmed any, and they have not. The PA Room does, however, hold all of Centre County's original probate packets. Most of the packets I have copied include the administrator's bond, but not all. These packets are indexed in a card catalog at the PA Room. I don't believe they charge to look up a name for you - just for copies, but you would have to ask to be sure. I know that doesn't directly answer the question, but I hope it at least points you in the right direction! 2. Good morning Cora, Thank you Cora for volunteering to pick up the award at Contentental Congress in July. As to sending the postage bill to our Chapter Treasurer for any of this fascicle, I really do not wish to burn our fragile chapter finances with this matter, which I feel can be spent on better projects. I have once again learned a valuable lesson about the political nature of DAR, and will be more careful in the future . I understand that Marianne Hughes is probably a volunteer and not paid for you work, but that doesn't account for the unprofessional way she handled her position or her treatment of me or my possession.
