Good evening, listers, It is my pleasure to announce completion of this round of the "Organized Roll Call" conducted for Centre Co, PA. There will be no further submissions accepted until the next Roll Call is announced. I had hoped to do this 3 or 4 times a year but workload indicates it may only be twice a year. Still, it presents a good opportunity for us to learn about the surnames we are researching and connect with possible cousins! Nance, There were several that went by that name in our area. More commonly they are known by the name of Advent Cemetery. You see, the Messiah's Church (a religious denomination) was also called the Advent Church. The largest is on Moose Run in Boggs Township. It dates from 1850 and has about 3000 graves. There is also one in Union Township on Dix Run. This may be the one you refer to. There are about 25 headstones standing. Many had fallen over but I understand a neighbor has gone about the work of cleaning the cemetery up and restoring the fallen stones. Let me know which of these is the one you have an interest in and I will be more specific with directions. Or, if you give me the name of the deceased we can figure out which one that way.
