Sorry, Marge, I don't have your e-mail address. I received a virus-infected message from you and wanted to let you know so that you can clean it from your computer. Good luck! Sue
Again I am receiving mail from "familydiscovery" and I suspect some of you have also. In the past I remember this was a bogus company. Or have they turned into a good guy? Is there someplace to report this? They continue to send solicitations. Thanks, Arline

Diane, I forwarded your request to Eva Haelen of Buffalo, NY, a HOY researcher. This is her response to me, to forward to you ------- Hi, Fred - Re Diane Rice's request for info. I have some info you might want to forward to Diane. This has been given to me by others. Barbara Hoy, b. c. 1765, d. c. 1831 in Fairfield Cty, Ohio, per estate settlement, m. Anthony Rarick/Rearick) who died c. 1828, Bloom Twp, Fairfield Cty, Ohio, s/o of John & Mary Rarick. Barbara was eldest daughter of Phillip Hoy per his will. I think Phillip's wife's name was Barbara, who might have died in Pa. before Phillip Hoy moved to Ohio, but not sure. Children of Barbara and Anthony Rarick: Daniel Rarick William Peter in Centre Cty, Pa., in 1831 court papers George Mary - mentioned in 1831 papers Ann Nancy Rarick m. Isaac Grover/Gruber Jacob b. 2 May 1803, d. 1888, m. twice - (1) to Elizabeth ?Wiley, b. 1800, d. 17 Sept 1834, buried at Glick Cemetery. Dau. Henry Close - mentioned in court papers Catherine, minor in 1831 Perry, minor in 1831 Olivia, minor in 1831. Phillip Hoy was s/o Albert/Albrecht and Susanna Sneavely Hoy. Eva
Hi Justin and Fellow Listers, Wondering if any of you have knowledge of Anthony REARICK (b. 1768 in Northumberland Co., PA); m. Barbara HOY (b. abt 1770, d. bef. 1828 in Fairfield Co., Ohio). I have seen the REARICK surname spelled a dozen different ways. Anthony REARICK was the son of John and Marie Rearick of Buffalo Twp., Northumberland Co., PA. This Anthony REARICK and family appears to have been in Armagh Twp., Mufflin Co., in 1820. Before that I believe Anthony REARICK and his family were in Centre Co., as they had a daughter, Salome baptisted at the Penns Creek Lutheran Church in 1804 according to some research by Fred Houts. I know a couple of you have done some HOY research, and a couple more have done some REARICK research. Hoping for a connection, although any suggestions would be welcome. Diane in Michigan

This is offered by the original seller. I emailed a question to him. To find these pictures go to www.ebay.com and when the search box comes up type in Loganton. There is a family Bible for the Deatrick family also from Elimsport PA. Search for "family bible" Jim in Vermont
Good Morning - I was surfing thru ebay.com this morning and found photographs for sale of Loganton Families. The ones I saw today were of SWAILS and BOWERSOX families. I previously purchased one on e-bay of John Wesley SNOOK and his wife. My grgrandmother's brother was living with this family when he died. It looks like these pictures are not from the original seller, but a dealer. I bought mine from the original seller. He inherited these pictures and some letters from his grandmother. Wouldn't a historical society love to have them?? Jim in Vermont
Greetings, members of PACENTRE, I wish to bring your attention to a new volume about to be offered by the Clinton County Genealogical Society. Clinton County is our neighbor to the east; at one time, half of the county was included within the limits of Centre County (from Feb. 13, 1800, to June 21, 1839). Many persons went back and forth. This new volume concerns the cemeteries of Renovo Borough and Chapman Township in Clinton County. Each known gravestone has been included in the publication, along with maps, directions, and brief histories of each cemetery. A number of the residents of the Lower Bald Eagle Valley have cross-connections with this region. Several of my own ancestral lineages from this area have family branches who lived in Renovo and/or Chapman Township. The terrain there is similar, and similar forms of employment existed. Anyone having an interest in this book, to be published by the Clinton County Genealogical Society, can contact me privately for further details. Those of you having relatives in the areas above mentioned may find beneficial information in this volume. Justin Justin Kirk Houser Genealogist/Researcher of Central PA and Beyond Main Lines: Houser, Breon, Shawley, Ranio/Hrynio (and others) President, BAHS Class of 2003 Student Representative, BASD Board of Education Listowner, PACENTRE-L@Rootsweb.com Historian, Schürch Association of North America (specialty Central PA lines) Member, Valley View United Methodist Church "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature"
Sue, I'm interested in the answer to this as well. I descend from a Christina Kramer, born December 14, 1778 in Jonestown, Lebanon County, Pa., married George Frank. Christina died on March 17, 1862 in Rebersburg and is buried there in the Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery. Her father was Andrew Kramer, md. Eva Margaret Haine. I have no other information on them. Have you explored a connection to Lebanon County by chance? Many of the Centre County Germans came through there at some point. - Doug Bierly
Can anyone help with this family. Lewis Kramer was b. 1818 in Centre Co, PA s/o Joseph Kramer & Mary Brown. Lewis married Julia Ann Bradley November 1839 a native of Centre Co, PA. When 18 years old (abt 1836) Lewis began learning the Carpenter trade with Jacob Gist, at Spring Mills, Centre Co. PA. He remained there 4 years, then he began to contract business in Venango Co., PA where he remained 13 years, coming to Logan Co Ohio in 1851. I would like to find parents of Julia, and also find parents of Joseph Kramer and Mary Brown. Hope someone can help with these ancestors. Thanks Sue
Justin, do you know of any folks by the names of Haberacker or Rapp that has ever come up in the Spangler Notebook. Perhaps you or others may have seen or copied from any of the Lutheran Reformed churches or cemeteries or some of those German speaking Churches that these folks would have gone too, or the Cemeteries these folks would have been buried in? I have never found my gg. gramma Sarah Haberacker who was m. to James Kinley/Kennelly, only in the 1850 Mill Hall, Clinton Co. Census. That's the only place I find them. I thought because she came from a German speaking family, she may be buried in one of the Lutheran Cemeteries. Sarah's father was John Haberacker and her mother was Elizabeth Rapp, both from the Alsace area in Berks Co. Pa. east of Reading. I just wonder if any of these families ever resided in the Centre or Clinton Co's or could be buried there? How do you suppose that Sarah met James Kenley? Any help will be much appreciated. Dorothy Cote
The 1860 census index lists a James Kinley in Armstrong County, page 157.
