Looking for information about James Watson, Jr. born 1783, died February 8, 1857 buried BranchCemetery; married Nancy Culbertson in 1810. Nancy was born June 24, 1790 and died June 9, 1825. The family lived in Centre County. I would like any information, but particulary information about children. Can anyone help?
Thought this was a terrific item to pass on to our Centre County List. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ACMBJC@aol.com> To: <PAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2002 1:40 PM Subject: [PAFRANKL] Re: News from ARIAS--Pennsylvania's Digital Archives > Listers: > > A good site. Justin. Just visited your web page and was quite impressed with your thorough research. Do you know what "podcarpathie" means? It means above the Carpathian (Mountains). You have been quite successful in your German research. Can you give us some insights into your sources and procedures for researching in Deutschland? Linda

To Fred Houts, c/o PACENTRE With luck, this message should get back to Fred. He first posted a request for information about Ezekiel BING. I responded with an e-mail to him with cc to the BING list. My message to Fred bounced, I now have more information on Ezekiel which I tabulate below via PACENTRE list: I have a copy of the marriage license for Ezekiel BING and Nancy CORMAN (this spelling used on five places on the license). License dated 28 Feb. 1896 and notes marriage was performed 3 March 1896 in Snow Shoe by M.L. Jackson. Application lists his age as 49 and hers as 39 or (born in 1847 and 1857 resp). Application also indicates death date of Ezekiel's first wife as 14 Oct. 1893 and just 1881 for Nancy's first husband. He is listed as a farmer from Snow Shoe and she is listed as from Bellefonte PA. Next, I have a copy of the Orphan's Court documents in the estate of Ezekiel Bing who died on 5 Dec. 1912 in Snow Shoe and was survived by his....." widow (Nancy), son Frank Bing by a former marriage and by three grandchildren being children of deceased daughters." Lastly Orphan Court documents involving the estate of Ezekiel's first wife Rebecca BING who died in Feb. 1893. She was survived by her husband.... "a daughter Mollie Holt, inter-married with Samuel Holt, and another daughter Lettie who is said to be over twenty-one years of age." Fred, send me a mailing address and i will send copies of these and other ancestral data. John On Mon, 12 Aug 2002 17:39:03 -0700, "John A. Ezekiel's father is Samuel BING, b 1813 in Chester Co.PA and whose father is Robert BING b 1781 (or so) of Chester Co. I think that Robert is the brother of my ggggrandfather Joseph BING, but I'm still looking for documentary proof. Hello Crawford County, I am new to this list and the two names I am searching are Robenold, Robbenalt, and Renn. Daniel ROBENOLD, Sr. and Sarah RENN were married in 1813 in Augusta Twp, Northumberland Co., PA as per newspaper article. They later migrated to Crawfored Co. in the Meadville area where they lived and died. Reports say they were buried on the family farm (???) in Mead Twp. Have not been able to find birth and death dates or the place of burial. Known children were: Betsy Elizabeth Mary Jane Barney Catherine Daniel, JR George Jerimiah Most of these children moved and were married in another state. Any help! Arline
Listers -- I am seeking information of any type on the above named man, Ezekiel Bing, born about 1844 (based on age of 46 at time of 1890 reconstructed census), where he was then a res. of Snow Shoe Township. I know that he was twice married: first to Rebecca J. Shank 1855-1893. They were married 21 Jun 1864. He then married second 3 Mar 1896 to my cousin Nancy Holderman 1856-1919. His first wife is bur. in the Askey Cem. of Snow Shoe Twp.; 2nd wife bur. Howard (per her obit). However, I have nothing specific on Ezekiel himself as far as birthdate and birthplace, names of his parents, date and place of death, and burial info. Ezekiel Bing's 2nd wife, Nancy Holderman (my distant cousin) had previously been married, probably about 1873, to one James W. Korman who died in 1883 and by whom she had 5 ch. between 1874 and 1882. By the time she married Ezekiel Bing in 1896 she was 40 years old. I'm almost certain she had no children by him although she MAY have. Any information at all on Ezekiel Bing and his parents would be much appreciated. Thanks. Fred Houts, Brooklyn Center MN
Hello listers, You folks can be the first to know (it's not officially announced anywhere else yet) that the CCGS book in the cemetery series: "The Cemeteries of Curtin, Howard, and Liberty Townships, Centre Co, Pennsylvania" is at the printer. We hope to release it at the Grange Fair later this month. Watch the web pages of CCGS at http://www.rootsweb.com/~paccgs/ for the price, shipping information and date of availability! Assuming all goes well, shipping will not be until after the Grange Fair is over. Ellen

With Justin's approvial, hope you can also use this poem. Dear Ancestor Your Tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone. The name and date are chisled out On polised, marble stone. It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist You died and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood and bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse Entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago (or more) Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so. I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you. ~Author Unknown~
