    3. Just a question about accessible.com-- you have to subscribe to get other books, yet this one was available at the address given. How can we get access to the other books and printings listed without subscribing? Is this the one that a PA library card number offers access to? Or is that something else? 3. Yes, Gen. Philip Benner was the founder of Rock Iron Works. There was both a forge and a furnace there, although one was some distance downstream from the other, all along Spring Creek. The lands were bought up by the Rockview State Correctional Institution in 1911-12 and all traces of the village are long gone. The Benners had a beautiful mansion which is now just a wooded area - no trace of the house. Photographs survive, however. 2. Justin Kirk Houser
    3. Mark, Linn's History has been put online. You will find many interesting details about the early history of our county and the settlement of Philip Benner at Rock here: http://www.accessible.com/amcnty/PA/CentreClinton/Contents.htm In 2003 we published a history of Benner Township which contains much about the Benners and Rock. Copies may still be available. Check it out by contacting the township: http://benner.centreconnect.org/contact.htm Copies are on file in the library in Bellefonte, etc. Justin At 02:06 PM 1/1/2007, [email protected] wrote: >Hi Nancy, >Thanks for the information on Phillip Benner. 3. Norine, I saw no such obituary. His great-great-grandmother was an Ammerman which MAY connect into my Werts ancestry, hence my interest. Perhaps the Philipsburg Journal (weekly) picked up something, or the Clearfield Progress. His son Marvin died Oct. 1, 2006 and he had a full obit in the CDT. 2. My Belle
    3. I am looking for information on a Harry D. Bloom and Annie Calhoun (b. 1875)who wed on Aug 19, 1894 in Clearfield Co., PA. They had a son William, birthdate unknown. Annie was also married to a Mr. Shannon, but I don't know if it was before or after her marriage to Harry Bloom. 3. Justin, Thanks for the reply. There was no notice in the Progress. I do have the full obit of his son who died in Oct 2006. Just can't imagine why there wasn't one on the father. Norine
