Hi Debbie, I saw that you are researching the Lucas family and thought I would ask if you might a George Lucas who was married to Mary Morton. I don't really have any dates for either of them, but I believe they had two children, Elery and Orrie Lee. Do you have any information on this family? Do any Moore researchers have an Elizabeth Moore born 10 Mar 1831, most likely in Boggs/Union Twp area? I'm not sure if Elizabeth was born in Centre County or Armstrong County - but I thought I'd throw it out there :)
On behalf of a family friend, I am investigating: William I. DAUGHENBAUGH (1846-1924; died in Orbisonia), probably son of Jacob DAUGHENBAUGH (particularly interested in confirming this and the identity of Jacob's wife - either Rebecca or Rachel [unknown surname(s)]); Annie Elizabeth RODGERS (1843-1884; died in Orbisonia), wife of William I. DAUGHENBAUGH, daughter of Andrew RODGERS and Margaret [unknown surname]; Harry S. DAUGHENBAUGH (1882-?; died in Chicago area), son of William I. DAUGHENBAUGH and Annie Elizabeth RODGERS; and Verna FLECK (1882-?; died in Chicago area), wife of Harry S. DAUGHENBAUGH, probably daughter of Peter B. FLECK (particularly interested in confirming this and establishing the identity of Peter's wive, Elizabeth V. [unknown surname]). The above information is based on studying US Census files from 1850 through 1930 and William I. DAUGHENBAUGH's Civil War pension file. I hope others may be investigating these families from Huntingdon County and adjacent Blair and Centre Counties and have access to other original sources. Kim, We connect to the Levi HICKS family from Elk county. Levi's daughter Margaret married Ira GREEN and moved to Clearfield. I know there is another HICKS family because our Alexander DAVIDSON's first wife was Sarah HICKS daughter of Isaac and Hannah (Lamborn) Hicks. I have a little on her. Diane, I have a Andrew Fleming married to Nancy Pierson. Her parents are Moses Pierson and Jane Holeman. Jane was born July 1789. These people are related to me through the McGrady's I don't have any dates for the Fleming's. They were from around Centre Co., I believe. If you have Andrew or any information on him can you give it to me? Thank you. Even in today's times - mistakes are made - Good example - the SSDI has my Mom's name spelled wrong - Maran instead of Maryan [left out the y] 1992 Also when tracing a census for a friend 4 years ago her ancestor was indexed as ? J [Stonewall Jackson [surname not shown here] as the relatives only knew [and remembered him as "Mean Black Jack" If you have access to later census - one column should note where he was born Mimi Taylor -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of MARLENE FORD Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 10:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PACENTRE] roll call: Pifer, Shontz, Livingston, Ford, Clark I am always so hopeful with roll calls: I am especially trying to find families connected to the Pifer and Livingston line. I am always so hopeful with roll calls: I am especially trying to find families connected to the Pifer and Livingston line. My George D Pifer was born January 19 1840 and died april 8, 1903. He first shows up in Bellfonte at age 19 living with the Humes family. >From that moment until his death I can account for most all his life. But in all the documents I have found the only mention that I find of his family is when he mustered out on leave from the PA 53rd Vol to return home to settle his fathers estate ( about 1863). I would sure appreciate any ones suggestions on where I can look. I would also love to communicate with anyone searching the Livingston family of Bellefonte. Harriet Maria Livingston ws the daughter of George Livingston and Elizabeth Ann Ford. Harriet was born Sept 14, 1845 and died March 27, 1925. Looking forward to hearing from any cousins. Surnames and mysteries: Henry MCGINNIS family, 820-1850 Boggs Twp.: Finally was able to connect to this Henry and found the names of his other children (William, Christian, Henry, Catherine, Elizabeth)...now I can't find a single one of them in the 1850 and beyond censuses (except Elizabeth in 1850), even though I know they were still in Centre Co through at least 1853/4 based on Orphan's Court records. William MCGINNIS - 1800 Potter Twp: Is this William related to Henry and Alice McGinnis? Only appears in the 1800 census. Lawrence/Jacob PETERS family - would like to establish a relatinship between Alice (McGinnis) Peters, wife of Lawrence (marr. 1 Nov 1807 in Centre Co), and Henry McGinnis. Also, a Jacob Peters is the guardian of Henry McGinnis' minor children. SHROYER: Family of Jacob and Barbara SCHROYER. Just learned of this name last week, so haven't got going on these folks yet. Related through Henry McGinnis' wife, Elizabeth. Regards, Chris Staats
These are the names I am researching. Particularly looking for information on Matilda Williams and Elizabeth Hess, daughter of Lewis Hess and Rachel Shirck.
Dear Listers, Am interested in these pioneer Central Penna families. Will appreciate any information anyone has to share. Thanks so much... Carol James E. Collier / Margaret Black Jacob Mitchell / Elizabeth Ralston Marie (Mary Fisher) / Jacob Fromm
