    1. [PACENTRE] Marathon Bakery
    2. I often go into AOL's geneology chat room. Last night, [email protected] and I were in at the same time. I am searching for several lines in my family. One last name is Vlachos. I happened sto mention that my great-grandfather Petros Vlachos was a baker who sold flour all over the Mediterranean before he came to this country c. 1904 and eventually established and ran the Marathon Bakery in Altoona, PA. He was my maternal grandmother's father, and I would appreciate any information on him and/or his bakery. I know he wore a mourning band because my great-uncle Gregory (his oldest son) died in the flu epidemic after WWI. Alexis Francos p.s. I'm not sure how he spelled his name in English, but it sounds slavic, and my grandparents did, according to my mother, talk about Roumania.

    3. Hi Marge, Yes, these people are related to me. If you go to my database at www.rootsweb.com and go to WorldConnect and search for them you'll find them in my file (Jkhouser84). The connection: If you take them back in my file to Johannes Brossman (1739-1807) and Anna Maria Heyl (1742-1812) -- Anna Maria is the sister to Anna Christina (Heyl) Loesch 1740-1816, my 5th great grandmother. Thus Anna Maria Brossman would be an aunt of mine and her descendants would all be my cousins. I have a copy of Schuyler Brossman's book on the Brossmans, which gave me everything I know about the family in Berks Co. I did not know about D & E Communications -- that is interesting indeed.
